The below advice is in relation to Citipointe Church Australia.

Dear Church Family,

We pray that you had a great week and we can’t wait to come together across all our Brisbane locations this weekend and lift up the name of Jesus.

As you would be aware, our Prime Minister yesterday announced that there would be restrictions regarding the size of public gatherings, effective as of Monday, 16 March due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). It would appear that the only location that would be impacted is Carindale (Citipointe Brisbane). Because of this, we are looking at alternative service options and we will keep you informed in the coming days what this will look like.

All other Brisbane locations will not be affected due to the size of their services.

Our primary mission, in this and all situations, is to unmistakably influence our world for good and for God. We refuse to be a voice that influences toward fear and we are committed to trusting our Saviour with our health, our church community, our city, and our world. This virus presents us an opportunity to be the church to a frightened world, one that is led by our Prince of Peace.

In John 14:27, Jesus tells us, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” Let us be a force of peace in our city – known as people of great faith, hope, and love.

While we trust God fully, we also want to do our part to educate and prepare ourselves to prevent any unnecessary risk. In light of this, we will implement the following procedures across all services, youth and kids programs from this weekend:

We would ask that in line with Health Department guidelines if you are feeling unwell please rest at home and join us for our services online via our Citipointe TV Youtube channel and our Church App, where our messages are uploaded each Monday. If you are not well please let your location or your Lifegroup Leader know and as a family we will pray for you.

We love our incredibly friendly culture, however, let’s skip the hugs and handshakes in favour of a smile and a wave.

Our host team will be especially diligent in opening doors for you to prevent you making unnecessary contact with door handles.

Members of our amazing Kids Team will check your child in ensuring that you will not need to touch a shared computer. We will ensure that all tables and children’s toys will be wiped over at the end of each service.

On Communion Sundays, we will provide prepackaged communion and these will be placed on each seat prior to the service to avoid passing out the elements. Used packaging can be placed under your seat and we will collect at the end of the service.

We ask that you give online or you can place your offering in the Offering Buckets provided at the end of each service. For locations that have Giving Stations these will be operational and we ask that machines be wiped down after each use with the wipes provided.

These prevention methods will minimise physical contact made at our church gathering, but we also recommend spending time learning these World Health Organisation personal hygiene recommendations:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and   water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick or have symptoms.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then dispose of the tissue in the bin.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

If any new information emerges or we implement additional safety procedures, we will inform you by email, website, and social media. We encourage everyone to connect with your location via social media so that you can be made aware of our immediate updates and regularly check our website at
